Computacenter assists organisations with the design, implementation and installation of Structured Cabling and Intelligent Infrastructure Management Systems (IIMS).

Where we have done it

Computacenter helped a major airline improve IT performance and customer services at its global offices and sales desks by upgrading the airline's cabling infrastructure. However, as structured cabling is not a core business area for the company, the airline required a partner with considerable cabling resources and expertise.

The company partnered with Computacenter to survey 200-plus customer locations in more than 50 countries. Based on this information, Computacenter designed and implemented a new cabling infrastructure for the airline, which involved deploying more than 5,000 Ethernet ports and local area network outlets, plus supplying and installing racks, cabinets, patch panels and Category 6 cabling.

Working with Computacenter ensured the cabling project was a success for the partner and its customer. The new cabling environment supports remote patch management and IT asset management tools to increase efficiency, enhance security and minimise operational costs.
