What we do

Computacenter's CSA service enables a complete understanding of the current datacenter facilities, assets and processes to be captured. It takes a modular approach to support organisations at varying levels of asset understanding. These range from simple environment-focused audits to the mapping of complex business applications.

• Environmental – Auditing the physical environment including areas such as heat and airflow, power consumption and datacenter capacity.
  
• Physical – Identification of IT assets in the datacenter, including systems, storage and networks.
  
• System State – Capturing key system configuration and performance details.
  
• Storage State – Capturing key storage configuration and performance details.
  
• Business Application Mapping – Identifying dependencies within the datacenter both between applications and between applications and infrastructure.
  
• Security Audit – Reviewing current security controls against an industry best practice model.
  
• Process Audit – Reviewing current processes against best practice within ITIL.

Where we have done it

Computacenter helped a large consultancy firm evaluate the impact of a planned datacenter move. We carried out a detailed assessment of the customer's core IT systems to determine how they inter-operate ahead of the datacenter move. As a result, the customer was able to minimise the risk of the relocation and successfully complete the project within a tight timescale.
