What we do

Computacenter's service starts with the configuration of hardware components, and where applicable, the installation of a customer-specific operating system build. Configuration can be performed across desktop PCs, laptops, mobile devices, departmental and enterprise servers.

Once configured, Computacenter can provide asseting services including the application of customer specific labelling, security tagging with data recording, etching, engraving, branding, and application of a DNA tracer solution. Management information ensures that key information is regularly reported back to the customer.

Computacenter will then ship equipment to required locations. A variety of options are available, from next day delivery to areas such as Goods In or Reception, through to guaranteed timed delivery to a specific room or desk including unpacking, removal and disposal of packaging. We can offer the same level of service locally or globally, providing a single point of contact for exports. Specialist delivery for sensitive technologies is also available.

Where we have done it

Channel 4
As well as helping with day-to-day management tasks, such as configuration, asset management, application packaging and maintenance, Computacenter also provides additional resources and expertise for specific IT projects. For example, Channel 4 is deploying a VMware solution as part of a server consolidation programme. It has also replaced its 1,400-strong estate of desktops/laptops and rolled out Windows XP and Office 2003 with Computacenter's help.
